Polonia Global Fund

On Sunday, May 7, 2006, Jim Konicki, Co-chair of Polonia Global Fund presented a check for $5,000 to Mrs. Jeanmarie Vollmer, Chair of PolishFest.

PGF obtained a grant in support of the cultural programs offered at PolishFest. The grant was funded through the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

PolishFest is an annual three-day celebration of Polish and Polish-American arts, literature, music, culture, history, and, of course, food. PolishFest is held in New York’s Capitol Region in the Town of Colonie.

PGF is proud to assist PolishFest, a wonderful event in New York’s Capitol Region. The Capitol Region is an area with a long tradition of multi-cultural understanding and celebration. In keeping with the goals of PGF, PolishFest provides attendees with a sense of connectedness to and understanding of the Polish and Polish-American experience.

The 2006 PolishFest will be held on September 22, 23, and 24 2006. The festival runs from 5pm to 10 pm Friday, Saturday from 12 pm – 10 pm and Sunday from 12 pm – 6 pm, at 250 Maxwell Road, Latham, NY (a suburb of Albany, NY). PolishFest is located off Exit 4 of I-87 (the Northway), near Wolf Road and Albany Shaker Road. It is across Maxwell Road from the Times Union building.

Catallarchy’s Blog features a post on making May Day a day of remembrance for those who suffered under the totalitarianism of communism. Jonathan Wilde states:
